Bay, Laguna – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office, through the Negosyo Center Business Counselors assigned in Mabitac and Calauan, and in collaboration with the CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI), successfully hosted a seminar titled “Seminar on DTI 5S of Good Housekeeping and Business Licensing.” The event was held at CMDI, Inc., Tranca, Bay, Laguna, and saw active participation from the local business community.

The seminar aimed to equip aspiring and current micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive marketplace. This initiative reflects DTI’s ongoing commitment to fostering economic growth and empowering MSMEs in the region.

Mr. Baron Chino Capuno, Negosyo Center Business Counselor assigned in Mabitac, and Ms. Dianne Piamonte, Business Counselor assigned in Calauan, facilitated the activity.

Piamonte provided a comprehensive overview of business licensing. “We aim to empower aspiring and current MSMEs with the knowledge and tools needed for business registration, enabling them to start, nurture, and legalize their enterprises,” she remarked. Meanwhile, Capuno discussed the essential aspects of good housekeeping using the 5S methodology to help make business operations more efficient and effective.

The event was attended by twenty-two (22) participants, primarily composed of aspiring and current MSME owners. The attendees actively engaged in the seminar, raising pertinent questions and sharing their experiences. The interactive nature of the session fostered a productive exchange of ideas and best practices among the participants.

One of the attendees, Ms. Ailene Calimlim from Bay, Laguna, shared her thoughts: “I found the seminar very helpful. Learning about Business Licensing and the 5S of Good Housekeeping has given me more confidence to grow my business. I am grateful for the support from DTI and CMDI,” she said.

The success of the seminar underscores the importance of continued collaboration between government agencies and partner institutions. The DTI Laguna Provincial Office, through its Negosyo Centers, remains dedicated to organizing similar initiatives in the future to further support the local business community.
