Following the province-wide orientation held last February 26 in Antipolo City, the Local Government of Cardona invited Business Development Division Chief Sharon Dioco, Trade and Industry Development Specialist Jonalyn Adaya, and Provincial Planning and Development Officer Melanie Razon for a localized orientation for the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index.

Municipal Administrator Dr. Fe Pastoral opened the program and thanked the speakers for the specialized orientation for Cardona and highlighted how each department, represented by their respective heads, play a crucial role in the overall performance of the municipality in the index. The speakers discussed previous years’ scores and rankings, Cardona’s strong and weak points, as well as strategies to implement for improvement. They also stated the importance of updating the Local Investment and Incentive Code and Comprehensive Development Plan as well as the impact on scores of trademarks, copyrights, etc. registered in the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and establishments with Department of Tourism (DOT) Accreditation.
