Participants and speakers during the MSME financing webinar organized by DTI-Laguna and SB Corp.

In line with the celebration of National MSME Week 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), through its Negosyo Centers in Majayjay, Santa Rosa City, Cabuyao City, Siniloan, and Mabitac, in partnership with the Small Business Corporation (SB Corp.), successfully conducted a webinar titled “Financing Growth: SB Corp. Loan Programs for MSMEs” on July 8, 2025.

The event aimed to equip micro, small, and medium enterprises with essential knowledge on accessible financing options that can support their business expansion, innovation, and sustainability. As MSMEs continue to play a critical role in driving economic development, this initiative sought to empower business owners with the financial tools and resources needed to thrive in today’s competitive market.

The program began with the preliminaries and an opening message from Ms. Teresita F. Tawingan, Chief of the DTI-Laguna Business Development Division, who emphasized the importance of capacity-building initiatives for entrepreneurs. This was followed by a special message from Mr. Christian Ted O. Tungohan, Provincial Director of DTI-Laguna, who underscored the agency’s commitment to uplifting MSMEs across the province.

The highlight of the webinar was a comprehensive presentation by Mr. Benson Sarabia Jr., CI-Verifier-Monitoring Staff from SB Corp., who shared detailed insights on the various loan programs offered by the organization. His presentation covered the eligibility requirements, application procedures, processing timelines, and repayment terms which gave the participants a clear understanding of how to access much-needed financial support.

A total of 50 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs attended the webinar, demonstrating a strong interest in exploring financial tools that can drive business growth and resilience.

The event forms part of DTI-Laguna’s continued efforts to strengthen the MSME sector, which plays a crucial role in local economic development (RMEGarcia, DTI-Laguna). ♦
