DTI-Laguna conducts BEST Game training for CFIDP coconut farmers in Los Baños, Laguna, enhancing financial literacy and promoting sustainable entrepreneurship through simulation-based learning and cooperative development.

Los Baños, Laguna — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office successfully conducted a two-day BEST Game Training for coconut farmers under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) on July 8 to 9, 2025 at Splash Mountain Resort, Los Baños, Laguna.

The training was facilitated by Trade Industry Development Specialist Marites V. Panutua, with assistance from Trade Industry Development Analyst Portia Sophia M. Cortezano, and was conducted in collaboration with the Cooperative Development Authority Regional Office.

The BEST Game (Business Expenses Savings Training) is a simulation-based training designed to enhance financial literacy and promote sustainable entrepreneurship among micro, small, and medium enterprises.

The program aims to equip CFIDP coconut farmers with practical business management skills, helping them make informed decisions and improve their livelihood through cooperative development and enterprise sustainability. The event is part of the government’s continuing commitment to empower coconut farmers by providing capacity-building initiatives under the CFIDP.
