
ANTIPOLO, RIZAL – The DTI Rizal Provincial Office successfully conducted CHAMPS Season 6 Module 2, centered on “Business Compliance for MSMEs,” featuring presentations from key government agencies including the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), and Pag-IBIG Fund.
Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Rizal President Mr. Gladdie Mallari delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the critical importance of business compliance for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Mr. Mallari highlighted how proper compliance serves as the foundation for sustainable business growth and contributes to the overall economic development of the region.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) provided extensive insights into business compliance requirements for MSMEs, covering business registration procedures and the Online Registration and Update System (ORUS). The presentation was delivered by distinguished BIR officials Dr. Karla M. Velas, Group Supervisor, Christine R. Dionisio, Revenue Officer, and Servillano Benedicto, Revenue Officer.
Following the BIR presentation, the Social Security System (SSS) was represented by Mr. Manuel Lunas, Account Officer, who comprehensively discussed the legal obligations and responsibilities of employers under SSS regulations, providing valuable guidance for MSME owners navigating employee benefit requirements.



Pag-IBIG Fund concluded the agency presentations with a detailed overview of their programs and services, including step-by-step guidance on business registration with Pag-IBIG Fund, ensuring participants understand the complete process for compliance.
The program concluded with closing remarks from BDD Division Chief Ms. Sharon F. Dioco, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all mentees for their active participation and engagement throughout the session. Ms. Dioco emphasized the value of such collaborative efforts in strengthening the MSME sector. ♦
