As of the latest monitoring update, the price ranges for imported rice are as follows:

  • Regular Milled Rice: NO REGULAR IMPORTED RICE LISTED
  • Well-Milled Rice: NO WELL-MILLED IMPORTED RICE LISTED

Local Price Coordinating Council members and stakeholders discussing rice pricing strategies in Region 2

Further, DTI is currently assisting in conducting regular rice monitoring and inspections in supermarkets and wet markets. Additionally, it works closely with Local Price Coordinating Councils (LPCCs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and other stakeholders to gather valuable insights and uphold fair pricing practices. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader efforts to stabilize the rice market and protect the public from unfair pricing strategies in view of the existing food security emergency.

As of date, findings indicate that while imported rice is available in the market, locally produced rice remains more significant in terms of supply and distribution.
