Carrying the national theme “Asenso Negosyo, Angat Kabuhayan: Bagong Pilipinas!,” the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), spearheaded the provincewide celebration of MSME Development Week from July 7 to 13, 2025. The weeklong celebration featured trade fairs, forums, capability-building activities, and strategic consultations aimed at empowering local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The week kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the PAGCOR Socio-Civic Center in Mamburao, led by Governor Eduardo B. Gadiano and DTI Provincial Director Noel DR Flores. It was followed by the opening of the Oksi Mini Trade Fair and Diskwento Caravan, where 20 homegrown MSMEs showcased their best products while four partner distributors offered basic goods and essentials at discounted prices. A Negosyo Center Business Consultancy Desk was also set up on-site, providing assistance on Business Name (BN) and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) registration, product packaging and labeling, and financing facilitation.

In his keynote message, Governor Gadiano emphasized the vital contribution of MSMEs to local economic development:
“Small businesses are not just part of the economy, they are the engine that drives it forward. Supporting MSMEs means supporting jobs, families, and local growth. That is what true development looks like.”
From July 7 to 11, Negosyo Centers across the province rolled out simultaneous trainings and seminars. Meanwhile, the Provincial Government hosted focused sessions on business resiliency and fish processing in Mamburao, providing practical knowledge for both new and experienced entrepreneurs. ♦
