Taipei, Taiwan — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taipei (PTIC-Taipei) Trade Representative Anthony Rivera and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Chairperson Atty. Cheloy E. Velicaria-Garafil collaborated with CTBC Holding Co. Ltd. in exploring opportunities to further strengthen trade and investment relations between the Philippines and Taiwan on 11 June 2025.

The meeting highlighted shared commitment in deepening economic cooperation, with CTBC expressing keen interest in expanding its presence in the Philippines. The company reiterated its support for inclusive financial solutions tailored to the needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as large corporations.

During the discussion, CTBC recognized the Philippines’ robust economic outlook and enabling policy environment as key factors that make it an attractive destination for long-term, strategic investments.

The PTIC-Taipei continues to facilitate strategic engagements that open new opportunities for collaboration between Philippines and Taiwanese businesses, aligned with the DTI’s goal of promoting the country as a conducive environment in doing business. ♦
