MAKATI CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Foreign Trade Service Corps (FTSC) through its trade and promotion office in Korea, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Seoul (PTIC-Seoul), recently engaged in a strategic meeting with the ASEAN-Korea Centre, Friday, 17 January 2025. 

The ASEAN-Korea Centre strengthens ties between ASEAN member states and South Korea by promoting sustainable development and economic growth. It runs programs to boost trade, attract investment, encourage tourism, and foster cultural and people-to-people exchanges. 

 The discussion centered on key initiatives, including advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, driving innovation, enhancing solid waste management, fostering the circular economy, and providing support for MSMEs in the food and beverage sector. 

The meeting was composed of representatives from the ASEAN Korea Centre, Director Win Min Phyoe, Assistant Officer Rhee Jin-Woo; FTSC Foreign Trade Service Officers Jeremiah Reyes, Rudolph Jay Velasco, and Beatrice Alexa Karamihan, Regional Coordinators Melody Dicen and Rose Ann Caringal; DTI’s Competitiveness and Innovation Group (CIG) Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista, Bureau of Policy Research and Innovation Director Ma. Theresa Faustino, and Assistant Director Karl Lyndon Pacolor; Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) Division Chief Rafaelita Castro and Assistant Division Chief, Ms. Heizle Trasmañas; Board of Investments-Resource Based Industries Service (BOI-RBIS) Division Chief Francis M.
