HONG KONG SAR, 22 April 2025 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines, through its overseas trade and investment office in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Macau SAR, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC-HK), participated in the Global Sources (GS) Hong Kong Shows Phase 2 conducted from 18 to 21 April 2025 at the AsiaWorld Expo.

The participation in the GS aims to promote the country’s trade opportunities to Chinese and global buyers and traders.

This year marked PTIC-HK’s inaugural participation in the GS, featuring two (2) companies from the electronics manufacturing and fintech sectors, along with an investment promotional agency (IPA) to showcase their offerings during the fair. The participating companies and IPAs included Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. (IMI), Kayamo Atlas Lending Corp. (Kayamo), and John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC). Notably, IMI had a representative physically present at the GS.

The four-day fair attracted numerous visitors and buyers to the Philippine booth, resulting in PTIC-HK receiving thirteen (13) inquiries and establishing connections with a Hong Kong-based news agency. Furthermore, PTIC-HK engaged with an event organizer from China to discuss potential collaborations on events aimed at promoting Philippine business opportunities and offerings across various sectors.

Additionally, Vice Consul (Commercial) and Commercial Attache, Atty. Roberto B. Mabalot, represented PTIC-HK at the Global Sources Summit on 19 April 2025, which was one of the concurrent activities of the GS. During the summit, he presented the Philippine external trade performance and its interactions with the country’s top trade partners in 2024. He also shared with attendees the potential trade and sourcing opportunities available in the Philippines and answered their questions.
