Lucena City – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Quezon in partnership with Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) and Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED) successfully conducted the ASEAN SME Academy (ASA) Training of Facilitators at Conference Room A, DTI – Quezon Provincial Office, LGCTI Building, Lucena City. Served as the moderator of the program was Ms. Jaryz Eden J. Lloce, Trade-Industry Development Specialist, DTI-Quezon.  

The program began with an opening prayer and singing of the national anthem led by Ms. Angelyn C. Lique, Government Intern. Ms. Anna Marie V. Quincina, Chief, Business Development Division then delivered her welcome remarks on behalf of PD Julieta L. Tadiosa, Provincial Director, DTI-Quezon. Ms. Quincina stated that the program was already planned as Ms. Lloce was having the training at Zamboanga. She also shared that the objectives of the program were to equip all DTI Region 4A facilitators and MSMEs with advanced skills and knowledge to effectively deliver training sessions on the ASEAN SME Academy online platform.  Following this was the opening message from ED Ma. Fe J. Avila, OIC, Executive Director, PTTC, wherein she acknowledged all the DTI-Region 4A facilitators and gave gratitude to DTI-Quezon for the initiative to conduct the program.  

Ms. Lloce then presented the program overview and house rules to be able to have a smooth and effective discussion and communication between the presentors and facilitators. Following this, Ms. Danica M. Dela Cruz, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist of PPTC discussed the topics on promoting the academy and partnership wherein she gave updates on new courses and partnerships. Mr. Rolan A. Ynion, Information System Analyst of PTTC, then followed with the introduction on ASEAN SME Academy from platform walkthrough and key features, creating an account in the academy facilitator dashboard and roles to updates. Mr. Jomel B. Lozada, Trade-Industry Development Specialist, BSMED discussed the ASEAN SME Academy: Facilitator Activities – Part 1, which is the action plan per province. Following this was the discussion of ASA Course Feature: Business Continuity Resilience Tab & GI/GG Courses by Ms. Malasari Rohman Mochamad Noor, Manager, Instructional Design, Mereka via zoom platform. Mr. Lozada then continued with Part 2 of ASEAN SME Academy: Facilitator Activities with regards to creating a report template for the facilitators and presentation: facilitator commitments.  

An hour lunch break was then given for the facilitators to regain their energy and refresh their minds.  

Continuing the program Ms. Dela Cruz and Mr. Ynion discussed the PTTC x ITC virtual learning system workshop. Following this was the awarding of certificates to PTTC and BSMED staff in recognition of their contribution.  

A closing message was then delivered by Director Emma C. Asusano, Director, BSMED via video presentation.  

The ASEAN SME Academy Regional Training of Facilitators is an initiative of the Region 4A action plan and a one-day activity to provide a thorough briefing on the new key features of the Academy, training courses, and pointers on the best way to utilize the revamped Academy for the user’s own businesses. This training aims to equip all DTI Region 4A facilitators with advanced skills and knowledge to effectively deliver training sessions on the ASEAN SME Academy online platform.
