DTI turns over the Shared Service Facility (SSF) for Packaging and Labeling to Mindanao State University (MSU)-Maigo in Lanao del Norte. The PHP 4.6 million facility aims to support MSMEs with advanced packaging, labeling, and processing services. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by representatives from DTI Lanao del Norte, MSU-Maigo, and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte.

Lanao del Norte, Philippines– On February 11, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) officially handed over the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) for Packaging and Labeling Support for Lanao del Norte Food Processing and Training Hub to Mindanao State University (MSU)-Maigo.

A flagship program of the DTI, the SSF provides micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with access to advanced machinery, equipment, and technical support through a shared system. This PHP 4.6 million packaging and labeling facility aims to support MSMEs in Lanao del Norte and nearby areas. This particular facility specializes in automated processing, packaging, and labeling services, and will also offer product development assistance.

Local MSMEs producing solid, liquid, and powdered products will benefit from the facility’s ability to improve product presentation, increase product capacity, and support product diversification. By enhancing visual appeal and enabling larger production volumes, the SSF will help MSMEs reach a wider market and achieve greater commercial success.

During the launch, DTI Lanao del Norte Provincial Director congratulated MSU-Maigo and highlighted the significance of the DTI’s collaboration with the academe.

“It [SSF launching] strengthens our roles as community partners, working together to a shared goal of elevating local businesses while enriching innovation experience for the students,” Director Tabucan said. 

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by representatives from DTI Lanao del Norte, MSU-Maigo, and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte. ♦
