Filipino food exporters has generated USD 46.52 million in export sales following their participation in the recent THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025, one of Asia’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Department of Trade and Industry, which led the delegation, reported that the sales were secured by a 22-company delegation at the “Taste of the Philippines” pavilion, aimed to expand the global footprint of local food products by strengthening ties with international buyers and distributors.
Maria Emmanuelle Burgos, Commercial Counsellor of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC)-Bangkok, said the participation was a key learning opportunity.
“Thailand’s reputation as the ‘Kitchen of the World’ is well-earned, owing to its continuous investment in food production, processing, and packaging technologies. By continuously engaging with Thai institutions and experts, the Philippines aims to gather insights that can be adapted to strengthen our country’s food sector,” Burgos stated.
To support this, the delegation engaged in targeted activities, including a seminar on advanced food packaging and printing trends, benchmarking visits to Thailand’s National Food Institute, and market sensing activities at local supermarkets, food halls, and a durian farm in Nonthaburi.
Kenneth Ochia, marketing manager for KLT Fruits, Inc., one of the participating exporters, echoed the sentiment, noting the value of direct market exposure.
“Joining Thaifex provided strong visibility for the exhibitors and has opened up valuable business opportunities for us,” said Ochia.
Products featured at the pavilion included processed fruits, sauces and condiments, ready-to-heat meals, noodles, snacks, various beverages, dairy, bread, pastries, and cacao-based goods.
Other participating companies included Amley Corp., DMC Enterprise, Fly Ace Corporation, Gem Foods International, Gerb Golden Hands Corporation, Jamla Corporation, KSK Food Products, Mama Sita’s, Mega Prime Foods, Miesto International Food Corporation, Ngo Siok Marketing (Super Q), P.
