Bengaluru, India—The global technology conglomerate iSON Group is set to invest up to $300 million over the next decade to boost the Philippines’ digital infrastructure, signaling a major push for nationwide connectivity and job creation. The expansion, which includes the construction of 3,000 to 4,000 new telecommunication towers, aims to enhance connectivity, particularly in underserved rural areas.

The announcement followed a high-level meeting between President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and iSON Group Chairman Mr. Vivek Gupta during the State Visit to India.

iSON Tower, the group’s telecom arm, plans to construct 300 to 400 new towers annually under the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Common Tower Initiative, which reduces infrastructure duplication and promotes cost-efficient network expansion for major mobile network operators.

The investment is expected to support thousands of local contractors, particularly in underserved regions of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while accelerating the Philippines’ transition to a digitally connected and sustainable economy.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina A. Roque welcomed iSON’s growing footprint in the Philippines, noting that its projects align with the administration’s Bagong Pilipinas vision for inclusive growth.

“iSON’s decision to broaden its investments in the Philippines is more than a vote of confidence in our economy—it is a partnership in nation-building,” Secretary Roque said. “Their work in building telecom towers directly supports our goal of bringing reliable mobile and internet services to remote communities, bringing high-quality jobs for Filipinos.”

The DTI will coordinate with relevant agencies to facilitate regulatory approvals and support iSON through applicable incentives under CREATE MORE and Strategic Investment Priority Plan (SIPP).

iSON Group, which operates in 35 countries and employs over 20,000 workers globally, has its Philippine head office located in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. To date, iSON Tower has already built 400 towers nationwide. ♦
