A one-minute video showcasing the transformative power of accredited conformity assessment in Philippine small business was recognized this week at the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) 2025 Annual Meetings, shining a spotlight on a homegrown delicacy with international promise: Guinamos.

Produced by Ms. Dinah Lyra Pantaleon, Owner and General Manager of Radin Food Products, the video tells the story of how the company’s commitment to accredited conformity assessment has improved its operations and positioned Radin Guinamos to meet the stringent safety and quality standards of global markets.

The feature was originally created for World Accreditation Day 2025, themed “Accreditation: Empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).” It was formally submitted to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) by the Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) and was selected as part of the global WAD social media campaign.

APAC took special note of Radin Food Products’ testimonial, highlighting it during one of the sessions at the APAC 2025 Annual Meetings in Bengaluru, India. The video was recognized as one of the most compelling entries received, prompting APAC to encourage other Accreditation Bodies (ABs) in the region to adopt similar multimedia strategies in engaging Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) and local industries.

Attending on behalf of PAB was Ms. Michelle P. Esteban, Chief of the Laboratory Accreditation Division. As a full signatory member of APAC, PAB reaffirmed its commitment to regional cooperation and the exchange of best practices in accreditation.

The meetings were hosted by the Quality Council of India (QCI) through its constituent boards, National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), and held at the Hotel Shangri-La Bengaluru. QCI, a national body under India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, plays a central role in promoting quality infrastructure and accreditation.

The Guinamos story is a tale of culinary heritage — and now, can be a symbol of how Philippine SMEs can leverage accreditation and accredited services to reach new markets and build global trust, one quality-tested product at a time.
