DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque speaks to reporters during the launch of the 'Job Blueprint' for the Philippine wholesale and retail trade sector, a joint initiative by the Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine Retailers Association, and Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines.

Quezon City, Philippines—In a bid to boost economic growth through innovation, resilient supply chains and a skilled workforce, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched the Section G: Job Blueprint for Wholesale and Retail Trade.

The blueprint is composed of six pillars which include Consumer Centricity and Competitiveness, Human Capital Development and the Collaboration and Public-Private partnerships.

The Consumer Centricity and Competitiveness pillar aims to increase the sale of Philippine-made products by expanding the Philippine Innovation Hub and launching the “Create. Sell. Choose Tatak Pinoy.” media campaign.

While under the Human Capital Development pillar, the blueprint prioritizes equipping the Filipino workforce with future-ready skills through robust partnerships with educational institutions and training centers to develop specialized programs in high-demand areas such as e-commerce, digital marketing, logistics, and customer service.

“Under the leadership of President Marcos, the Department of Trade and Industry’s new ‘Job Blueprint’ for retail signals a bold step toward empowering every Filipino business, from sari-sari stores to large malls. This initiative is a key pillar in realizing his vision of a ‘Bagong Pilipinas,’where resilience and competitiveness drive sustainable growth for all,” said Secretary Cristina A. Roque.

“What we’ve developed with the private sector is a blueprint; what comes next is the detailed engineering and implementation phase—turning our strategic plans into concrete results.” she said. ♦
