
The Department of Trade and Industry – Quezon Provincial Office assisted the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) of Lucena City in the conduct of Likhaang Lucena Festival 2024. The festival was mounted last December 6, 2024 at Lucena City Convention Center, Mayao Kanluran, Lucena City
The event began with Welcome Remarks from Engr. Sheena M. Estaňero, Officer-in-Charge of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office, who highlighted the challenges and most importantly her commitment to continue the initiatives of the LEDIPO office to put the Lucena City’s creative players in the national and international level.
Dir. Julieta L. Tadiosa, Provincial Director of DTI Quezon, provided an Overview of the Event and shared the previous events under the Lunsod Lunsad as well as the ways forward to uplift the creative players in Lucena City.

Hon. Roderick A. Alcala, Vice Mayor of Lucena, and Hon. Elizabeth U. Sio, City Councilor, delivered Messages of Support, signifying their commitment to advancing the city’s creative economy. The closing remarks was given by Mr. Jonaz Rogel P. Evora, owner of Terpsichorean Performing Arts Academy, who expressed appreciation to all the individuals involved in the event.
The activities and contests conducted were Creative Folk Dance Competition, Spoken Word Poetry, Short Film Documentary Awarding, Modern Filipiniana Fashion Show, On-site Business Name Registration, and Intellectual Property Consultation.
The winners of the competitions during the Likhaang Lucena Festival 2024 are as follows:
In the Creative Folk Dance Competition, the first place was awarded to the MSEUF Banyuhay Dance Troupe, followed by the Indak Kalasag-Calauag in second place, and the Quesinhayaw Cultural Troupe securing third place.

In the Spoken Word Poetry Competition, Ms. Ghenaela Gandia claimed first place, with Mr. Shawn Kyle Adajio taking second place, and Mr. John Angelo Salustiano finishing in third.
Lastly, in the Bulungan sa Lucena Short Film Documentary Contest, the top prize went to Mass Communication United, while the second place was awarded to Uno, Dos, Tres Production, and the third place was given to Balintataw Documentary.
The Likhaang Lucena Festival 2024 kicked off the opening of “Likhaang Lucena Creatives Development Hub”, Lucena’s project under the Lunsod Lunsad Program, which aims to establish a creative industry hub which will serve as an incubation and management program for both professional and aspiring artist as well as entrepreneurs in Lucena City.
